Beating Pete Sampras on the 2001 US open final in straight sets, driving directly to 2004 final without lossing a set, still leading record against Federer 8:6. Lleyton Hewitt is no doubt a strong competitor with good shape. He did nothing wrong except broken too early on the first set and missed a couple break chances on the second set. However, today's Federer is too much to handle.
He may not have Andy Roddick's powerful baseline, Agassi's accurate return, Johnansson's 140mph Ace serve. But overall, he is a genies all-court player and slightly better than anyone at this time.
He has everything in his pocket to claim 3 grand slams in one year: powerful and acurate serve, super fast pace, sharp forehand, barely miss backhand... Overall, his game is so smooth, so relax, and so nature, reminds us the peak period of Pete Sampras...
He was dominating on first set, playing unblievable perfect. But then like any other players, he felt nervous and show his weakness on the middle second set, facing break points on 3 of his service games and eventually broken. But then he calm down and re-focus, cruise all the way to victory.
His relaxation and calmness are the biggest mental weapon against all players.
