When the sun is on vacation
Soft snow
Will occupy some places on the earth

When the sun is back
Tears rain down for a month
The tears
Have washed the streets
And watered the lawns
And spruced up the earth for the smile of spring

Gentle winter snow
Covers parts of the earth

But when the sun returns
A month-long sun-shower
Washes the streets
Nourishes the lawns
And spruces up the earth with spring’s smile
