Meaning

Meaning



When you don’t know what to do
With your life, it becomes a burden.

Simple thing like breathing
Could be difficult when you feel time weigh on you.

You even grow indifferent sometimes turning
A blind eye to ugly moments when you taste nothing.

That young man standing by me in the rally
Lost his brother in Iraq---body wrapped in Stars and Strips.

The picture he’s holding is an image of young
With innocent eyes, nice teeth, uncertain smile.

What does it mean when life ends at 20?
The survived brother is in war with himself, no tears.

What does meaning mean to him
Who lost a brother and no words coming out of his chest.

I come from a country rich with wars, loses...
Rich with silent tears, short-lived dreams.

I am lucky because I have never had to look
Right into the eyes of an "enemy" then pull the triger.

I am lucky that I have not been lied too many times
Before losing my own bearings, my own life.

A hero? A glory? Or a mere victim
Sacrificed for nothing---something has no meaning.

It rains. Time weighs on me and I scurry
Hoping that this day won’t end like yester’s.

ZZ，我找到一个字好像不对，A BLIND EYE (IN LINE 6)
我觉得侵略的战争中没有英雄与荣耀。。。
