Mira and the goose
Once there was a girl called Mira.
She worked for a rich lady.
Every day, Mira had to do her washing by the river.
In the morning, she had to wash all the clothes.
In the evening, she had to wash all the pots and pans.
One morning, Mira was washing some clothes.
A dress fell into the river and floated away.
Mira did not know what to do.
She began to cry.
A goose heard her crying.
“What’s the matter, litter girl?” she asked.
“I will get it back,” said the goose.
And she swam away.
Soon she came back with a golden dress.
“is this the dress?”
She asked.
“No, it isn’t.” Mira said.
The goose swam away again.
Soon she came back with a silver dress.
“Is this the dress?”
She asked.
“No, it isn’t.” Mira said.
The goose swam away for the third time.
Then she came back with the lady’s dress.
Is this the dress?” she asked.
“Yes,” said Mira happily.
The goose saw that Mira was a good and honest girl.
So she gave the gold and silver dresses to Mira.
