经过一年的折磨，终于拿到了assistantship，今天早上来了letter让我签字，但有一段话我理解上有点不确定，请英文好的亲帮我看看。 #A/OGi

The estimated minimum value of your entire assistantship is $ 39,480 for an out- of-state student. By accepting this assistantship, you will pay a reduced tuition fee of $25 per semester instead of full tuition, which for the 2015-2016 year is $12,045 per semester for out-of-state students. 为了方便，我把整段贴上来了，就是涂色那里，我的理解是我要pay的是每学期25刀的tuition，可我老公却觉得是12045-25=12020这么多，只是减免了25刀。到底是哪个意思呢？ C`.YOkpj

这段说“接受了这笔助学金，你只要付减免后的学费25美元，而不是2015-2016年的外州学生的总学费计一万二千十四五美元。". P#O"{+`

你就是只付25美元。别忘了你是在帮学校打工，你的报偿除了助学金（实际上就是你的工资）应再加免学费和给你医疗保险。这是大多数学校的惯例。assistantship就是做助教或助研，打工。学校给你一份临时工作。

这25刀很可能是健身房的费或IT费。就是人人都必须交的，所以不在减免之列。

这句是不是说我的保险是要从给我的stipend里面扣除呢？

我们以前的TA是有学校付的保险。可能你这所大学没有。所以说如果你没有，学校就会从你的助学金中强行扣除。 mLq0;uGL|

根据美国US News and World Report的排名，你所说的第二所学校排名62， 第一所学校排名85。但这个不是非常重要，我个人观点，除非前20，剩下到200我看都差不多。还有这个排名是大学整体排名，研究院每个专业排名会不一样。你是去研究院，所以应该更看重专业排名。 8U#14U5rS

再次谢谢卡总，我现在也是只能在网上看看排名，两个人一起，要考虑的东西更多，最后只能抓主要矛盾做个选择， 也不敢奢求哪哪儿都特别满意。
