去年在内地引起热烈讨论的都市情感剧《蜗居》，曾因题材敏感及涉及性话题，遭北京电视台青少年频道停播，掀起争议风波。改编自作家六六的同名小说，反映了内地民众对高房价的控诉。以反腐、房奴和二奶为主线，透过两姐妹为买房子的生活经历，描绘都市男女生活的辛酸与无奈。
剧集去年七月在上海电视台播出后，四天便创下收视历史新高。剧情直击社会热点问题，贴近生活，被称为现实主义电视剧，引起观众共鸣，引发网友的讨论，被誉为2009年最好看的电视剧，更夺得「2009金榕树电视剧大奖」的「最佳突破剧集」奖项。不过，因涉及的房奴、第三者等社会敏感内容，加上台词露骨，出现争议。无綫今次选播此敏感剧集，令不少观众感意外。
海萍决心江州买屋
故事讲述作为外来工作者的郭海萍和郭海藻两姐妹在江州的的生活经历。姐姐郭海萍与丈夫苏淳大学毕业后，不甘生活于家乡小城市而留在江州工作，两人租住了10平方米的小屋子。海萍一生中所有的大事，基本上都是在这间小屋里完成。海萍再也受不了他们两口子挤在那么小的一个空间里面，决心在江州购买房子，以把留守在娘家的女儿接过来一起居住和教育，但因担负首期房款而到处借钱筹款。
郭氏姊妹感情要好
妹妹郭海藻与姐姐海萍感情要好，只要海萍需要，无论什么海藻都会愿意给。海藻与同居男友小贝都是简单的人，小贝尽可能做到普通生活里充满浪漫，用甜蜜的恋爱把海藻包裹起来。两个小人儿就如此平稳又幸福的生活着，只等着储够钱就结婚。可惜生活不能只靠甜蜜来支撑，一旦遇到心烦事，问题就立刻会显现出来。
海藻背男友与思明发生关系
海藻因工作关系接触到市长秘书宋思明，思明得知海藻为海萍的事而烦恼，主动借钱给海藻，更介绍海萍做外教兼职，让她意外打开了事业局面。而每当海藻遇上麻烦，思明总有办法替她解决，海藻的潜意识里思明已经像是一个巨大的隐形人在后面撑着她，两人终抑制不住发生了关系，亦开始发展成为情人关系……
